I know this question has been answered multiple times but my doubt is still not cleared..
Why there is a concept of setup tables for LO data sources?
1.Some say LO has huge amount of data but then there is huge amount of data in FI also..
2.Some say set up tables are used to avoid overload by directly hitting application tables during extraction but then application tables are directly hit while filling set up tables.
3.Some say FI has time stamp concept but LO does not have but then for filling of set up tables also there is some ABAP program running in background.So it is possible for SAP to design LO data source with Function module behind it which can take the same logic which is used by ABAP program for filling set up table
