Re: Change Existing LO Extractor in BWP

Hi

Here is my input on this

BWD:

Clear down set up tables (LBWG)

Run program to collect data to Delta Queue (LBWE or edit existing jobs).

Run Delta’s in BW.

-> Run two deltas to also pick up the safety delta!!

-> Make sure you unschedule lbwe jobs or non runs in that time..

Check RSA7 contains zero entries and that LBWQ has no entries.

Make the changes to the extract structure as needed.

Unhide the field in the data source (the newly added field will be hidden by default).

Reactivate the data source.

Run program to collect data to Delta Queue (LBWE or edit existing jobs).

Run Delta’s in BW.

BWQ:

Delete the set up tables (LBWG)

Close the system. Make sure no one can update data.

Run program to collect data to Delta Queue (LBWE or edit existing jobs).

Run Delta’s in BW.

Again two deltas need to be done!

Check RSA7 contains zero entries and that LBWQ has no entries.

For certainty re-run Deltas.

Import (transport) the change

Replicate datasource.

Run program to collect data to Delta Queue (LBWE or edit existing jobs).

Run Delta

BWP:

Delete the set up tables (LBWG)

Close the system. Make sure no one can update data.

-> Also make sure non of the background users generates documents in that time

Run program to collect data to Delta Queue (LBWE or edit existing jobs).

Run Delta’s in BW.

-> Again two deltas

Check RSA7 contains zero entries and that LBWQ has no entries.

For certainty re-run Deltas.

Import (transport) the change

Replicate datasource.

Run program to collect data to Delta Queue (LBWE or edit existing jobs).

Run Delta

-> Rest sounds good to me

Concerning your inital question regarding the PSA: You don't necessarily have to delete it but I would highly recommend it's difficult to load data from psa to dso without picking up old records

Also you haven't mentioned rebuilding the setuptables to update historical data but if you don't need your newly added field for them you are fine. Otherwise that step goes before you restart your delta

hope it clarifies

Martin
