End routine is the way to go from my experience, also try adding an index on the DSO with fields
/BIC/ZOBJSTAT
EQUIPMENT
/BIC/ZSTATOBJ
ZOBJTYPE
RF_DEL_IND
this way the database should be able to return ZOBJSTAT with only an index read
